Zanghgua Village, Wushi, Huzhu Mongghul (Tu) Autonomous County, Haidong Region, Qinghai Province, PR China self-organized a Mongghul performance team in 1998 and financed it with contributions from each village household. New Mongghul-style clothes were made, the Anzhog dance was practiced, Mongghul songs were learned and relearned, and dance and other programs were created. The team then went by tractor-trailers to such sites as Songduo, Donggou, Xishan and Nanmenxia townships and Danma Town, and many villages in Wushi Town. They were invited to perform and paid 300-400RMB, when they were invited by local government per performance. The performances were usually in the winter when local residents had less work to do. The team disbanded in about 2003 for lack of funds and because team members wished to go to Xining and other cities to earn more income.
The performance featured in this video was made by Jugui in the winter of 2000 at the Danma Town government seat when the team was invited to perform by Danma Government officials. A VCD was then made of the film in 28 December 2000 by Jugui and Limusishiden at their home in Xining.
